Greater Fort Worth Area Civic Leaders Association Makes Annual Trip to Elementary Schools

For the seventh year, the Civic Leaders visited elementary schools, Friday August 18th. The purpose of the visit was to setup a harship fund at each of the schools visited. The fund is intended to be used by the schools for underprivileged children. Lyle Oelfke said, "that hopefully, the fund will help keep the teachers and the administrators from having to dig so deeply into their own pockets, to help the young children with school supplies, clothing, field trips and more."

Elementary schools visited were: Benbrook, Luella Merrett, Westpark, Western Hills Primary, Mary Louise Phillips, Como, A.M. Pate, and H.V. Helbing.

Representing The Greater Fort Worth Area Civic Leaders were: Chairman Lyle Oelfke, Co-Chairman Dr. Steve Brown, Board Member Oscar Stewart, Former Benbrook Mayor Felix Hebert, Project Director Dolores Oelfke, and Educational Advisor Lou Kosanovich.
